NOTE: According to The Hoosier, Vol. 106, #12, page 11 (published by the Indiana School for the Deaf), Hettie Ridder died 7 February 1873, aged 14 years, 21 months [sic], 26 days. The Indiana School for the Deaf, 1843-1994, Sesquicentennial: A Commemorative Yearbook (Indianapolis, IN: The Indiana School for the Deaf Alumni Association, 1994, p. 43) gives her name as Henrietta Kidder [sic].
